Chords

Like many string instruments, the ukulele has a variety of chords that you should master. For this song, you need to know five chords. The chords below are written in tab (or tablature if you want to be specific).

Of all the ways to read and write music, tab is one of the easiest. If you have never learnt to read tab, [check out this free lesson] before continuing.

The Strumming Pattern

There are a number of different ways to strum along to the song. The original strumming pattern is a bit tricky to master, so we’re going to use something a little easier.

On every chord, all you need to do is strum down, down, up, up, down, up.

While you could use your fingers to strum along, using a soft pick will give you a slightly better tone, and be a little bit easier.

The Song - Jason Mraz, I'm Yours - Ukulele Tab

Now that you can read tabs, play the chords, and use the right strumming pattern, it’s time to put it all together. On the chord chart, you will see that there are letters written above the lyrics.

These letters are the chords you need to play. To play the song, all you need to do is play the full strumming pattern on every chord. What could be easier?
