A child prodigy and musical genius, Darren has taken his UCT level abilities to many exciting places for drummers and audiences alike, using acoustic and electronic gear concurrently. Come to Darren’s workshop and learn more about how to make the art of Hybrid Drumming work for you, like many other famous artists have, globally.

Darren’s list of accolades is incredible. From an early age, he started singing at Eisteddfods, playing Classical percussion with The Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and generally forging an impressive presence in the music world. Then he moved on to Jazz drumming and started gaining a strong reputation as a great Jazz, Funk, and Rock drummer. Darren is also the resident drummer for the label, StereoType Records.

As a child, his superb abilities led to him being cast in the internationally acclaimed musical Evita, performing Carmina Burana with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, and being cast as one of the lead players in the Award Winning British touring musical Honk!
