When I was in High School, there were very few opportunities for me to go watch good bands. On occasion, there was a school band playing at a party or school hall, but none of the biggest acts were there. In recent years, the under-18 gig scene has blown up. By and large, this is because of events like “We Came to Build”.
We Came to Build
We came is build is run in association with Metal4Africa and True Believers, with the backline powered by Paul Bothner Music.
The heart and soul of We Came to Build is that it is an alternative music experience, which is open to all ages. At the 2016 event, almost half of the people in attendance were under 18, with the other half being adults. This shows how inclusive metal and the alternative music scene truly is.
Every effort is made during the course of the event to ensure the safety of minors.

There are a limited number of pre-sale tickets available at a price of R50 per ticket. Once the pre-sale tickets have sold out, tickets can then be bought at the door for R60.
