About Tony Cox

Multiple award-winning South African acoustic guitarist Tony Cox has become a veritable icon in his own country and has been described as one of South Africa’s finest musical exports. He has built a career on the back of his particular South African brand of fingerstyle guitar. Influenced largely by his environment and where he grew up on the planet, Tony developed his own unique South African approach to fingerstyle guitar playing after years of studying and performing all the traditional genres of Folk, Classics, Blues, Rock and Jazz.

Built on a solid foundation, Tony’s singular approach to his own music has inspired many an upcoming young guitarist and garnered him three SAMA Awards (South African Music Award) for three highly acclaimed albums.

Tony has played to audiences throughout Europe and North America, pan African Continent and his dedicated home followers.
