The Instruments of Queen

Love them or not, Queen is arguably one of the most influential bands of all time. Proof of this is easy to find; look at any top 100 rock songs of all time, and nine times out of ten you’ll find Bohemian Rhapsody in the top ten, and more often than not, in the number one slot.

When it comes to the gear that the band uses, it’s common knowledge that Brian May exclusively played Vox amps live and that he built his guitar in his garage at home.  But, did you know that he also played a Fender Telecaster? What about Freddie? Bet you didn’t know that he played a Telecaster as well.

Win 1 of 5 sets of double tickets to see Bohemian Rhapsody at a cinema close to your local Paul Bothner Music or Jean Village Music store.

John Deacon, the bass player for the band, is best known for his melodic bass lines and his sunburst Fender P-Bass. While John might not be as well known as Freddie, his baseline for Another One Bites The Dust will never be forgotten. Admit it; you’re humming it right now, aren’t you?

To this day Roger Taylor, the band’s drummer is a fan of Zildjian cymbals. Rodger is considered by most to be one of the most influential rock drummers of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

And of course, what would Queen be without Freddie sitting at his grand piano? Of course, he used to play an acoustic grand piano, but if he were still alive today, there is a good chance that he’d e playing a top of the range digital piano.
