The Streamliner collection from Gretsch is their entry-level range of electric guitars which lets you explore new sounds and textures at an affordable price. Built for versatile tones and classic Gretsch style, these electric guitars scream with modern features and vintage Gretsch stylings from the ‘40s, ’50 and ‘60s.
Gretsch is, of course, world-renown for their classic styling and signature sounds. Owned by Fender, and played by everyone from Jack White to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Gretsch sound is an absolute staple in the guitar world.
The Streamliner range is broken into four models:
- Hollow Body
- Center Block
- Center Block Jr.
- Junior Jet Club
Let’s take a look at the range!
Streamliner Hollow Body Range
The Hollow Body Streamliners are the only guitars in the range with full hollow bodies. This, along with the single cut design, provides for excellent sustain, and a genre defining tone.
There are three versions of the Streamliner Hollow Body, the Bigsby, Gold Bigsby, and the Chromatic II. Between them they offer options for Gold or Chrome hardware, Bigsby or hardtail bridge, and P90 or Broad’Tron pickups.
Streamliner Center Block Range
The Streamliner Center Block range can be considered a semi-hollow design. As the name states, there is a solid block down the center of the guitars which separates each cavity of either side of the guitar. This provides a tone and sonic signature that exists somewhere between that of a hollow-body and a solid-body guitar.
By comparison to the Hollow Body Streamliners, these also have a more shallow body, and a double cutaway design.
Throughout the range, they again offer options for Bigsby or hardtail bridges, P90 or Broad’Tron pickups, and Gold or Chrome hardware.
Streamliner Center Block Jr. Range
The Streamliner Center Block Jr. is very similar to the standard Center Block range, but in a smaller form factor.
The range again offers options for Bigsby or hardtail bridges, P90 or Broad’Tron pickups, and Gold or Chrome hardware.
Streamliner Junior Jet Club Range
The Streamliner Junior Jet Club is a slightly stripped-back, simplified version of the classic Gretsch electric guitar. It is an entirely solid body design, with simplified controls and options. The Junior Jet Club is the definition of a no-frills workhorse guitar.
The range again offers options for P90 or Broad’Tron pickups.
