Mission Statement

Founded in 2014, Harmony Music Foundation’s goal is to make music education accessible to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Cape Town. We travel to schools and children’s homes teaching elementary musical concepts in a fun and interactive and way. We also provide performance opportunities to the children on a variety of different instruments to foster self-confidence and provide an expressive outlet for those who have had more problems than most.

Story

“My name is Sebastian Guile, principal founder of Harmony Music foundation. For 2 years i was disabled with a autoimmune disorder called celiac disease. During this time I gained a lot of empathy for human hardships. I decided to combine my skills as a qualified professional music teacher with my new found perspectives on life to create non-profit organization which would allow me to change the lives of South African children through music. In early 2014 I came up with the idea of Harmony Music Foundation. I formulated a specialized syllabus that teaches basic musical concepts in a fun and engaging manner to create upliftment in the community and grow self-confidence in the individual. So far we have reached various childrens homes and schools and the interest is growing rapidly!”

Goals

Our goals are To spread music education to as many places as possible to the people who need it most and to work with as many other non-profits as possible, creating a cultural backbone for the arts to thrive.
