Fender has never been a company to rest on their laurels. One of the most significant things about the company’s approach is that even though they are regarded as one of the top guitar brands in the world, they still innovate and tweak their designs, all with the aim of bringing you something special. Something like the new American Performer Series of guitars.
The American Performer Series of Fender instruments is the latest line from the iconic guitar manufacturer. These guitars come equipped with Fender’s all-new Yosemite pickups, a Greasebucket tone circuit, and stunningly beautiful satin finishes.
The American Performer Series comes in all your favourite shapes and configurations, and even includes a few bass guitars! Do you prefer traditional guitars? Then you should check out the American Performer Stratocaster or Telecaster. If you’re more of a modernist, then you might be happier with a Jazzmaster or a Mustang. And if you like your tone deep and low, then you should check out the P-Bass or Jazz Bass offering.
What sets the Fender American Performer Series apart?
Yosemite Pickups
Fender’s all-new Yosemite pickups deliver the sound you need for the performance you want. Custom-voiced for each instrument in the series, these unique alnico pickups offer tones as dynamic and expressive as the musician playing them.
Greasebucket Tone Circuit
One of several key features designed to add tonal variety with a quick flick of the wrist, this agile tone system lets you cut treble without losing gain or muddying your sound.
Satin Finish
The American Performer Series features updated finishes, including satin versions of classics like Sonic Blue and Surf Green, and new colours Penny and Aubergine.

History of the Line
Great guitars are seldom built in isolation. They are instead the result of years of refining and tweaking until they are perfect. The Fender American Performer Series is no different.
The series first started out as the Fender Highway 1. The Highway 1 was well received and is still loved to this day. After a good run, Fender decided Highway 1 needed a facelift, and so they refined the series and launched the now iconic American Speical series.
Now, years after the American Special, Fender has once again given the line a facelift and some new pickups and launched the American Performer Series.
