An Homage to Leo Fender’s Bold, Revolutionary P Bass
A loving homage to the electric bass guitar that started it all, the limited-edition 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass evokes the sound and vibe of Leo Fender’s original bold, revolutionary design. Crafted from a musical-sounding chunk of ash, this magnificent instrument serves up punchy P Bass perfection by the truckload, courtesy of a Custom Shop ’62 Precision Bass split single-coil pickup. And it’s a joy to play, by virtue of its satin-finished 1963 “C”-shaped neck, 9.5-inch-radius maple fingerboard, and sculpted neck heel. The Commemorative P Bass flaunts top-shelf hardware, including rock-solid Pure Vintage ’70s tuning machines and a 4-saddle HiMass Vintage bridge; to highlight its exclusivity, it’s adorned with a 75th anniversary ingot rear headstock inlay and an engraved neck plate. A light-catching gloss urethane finish and head-turning gold hardware round out this highly collectible, limited-edition P Bass. Of course, a molded, plush-lined hardshell case and a special certificate of authenticity are included with the Fender 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass.
Built for comfort and performance
Ask any player who has spent time with the thick “C”-shaped neck profile on a mid-’60s Precision Bass, and you’ll hear a string of descriptors ranging from “deep” and “balanced” to “one of a kind.” With its comfortable 1.625-inch bone nut and maple fingerboard with a modern 9.5-inch radius and 20 medium-jumbo frets, the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass’s 1963 “C”-shaped maple neck sits beautifully in the hands and features a touch-and-response dynamic that unlocks limitless potential for stylistic exploration.
Armed with a versatile, vintage-style pickup
The Fender 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass is outfitted with a Custom Shop reproduction of a 1962 P Bass pickup. This split single-coil pickup delivers classic low end and punch, along with incredible warmth, thanks to enamel-coated magnet wire, period-correct cloth output wire, and a vintage-style fiber bobbin. Flush-mount pole pieces yield even string response, while Alnico V magnets provide you with phenomenal focus and incredible dynamics. Bassists really dig the Commemorative P Bass. Whether you play jazz, funk, or rock, this instrument’s booming lows, hard-hitting mids, and clear highs are guaranteed to satisfy.
Teeming with classic P Bass vibe
Leo Fender introduced the Precision Bass back in the 1951, and its classic body shape and comfortable neck continue to give its disciples excellent playability and a distinctive look. Players from all genres have embraced the P Bass, and it continues to be a favorite in the studio and on stages everywhere. As with so many of Fender’s original designs, the man got the essence of a great instrument right the first time. And seven decades later, the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass stands as a sterling example.
