Bio:

Chadleigh is an award winning bassist that started playing from the age of eleven. He credits learning to play the guitar and the bass by ear, in church, where his instincts to improvise and harmonise matured. Those skills have made him adept at playing both jazz and gospel, the genres he has been playing the most during his decade long career. He was awarded the Standard bank Silver Ovation award in 2020 and then went on to receive the Gold award in 2021. He is the current bass player for kyknets "Koortjies met Jonathan Rubain". Chadleigh has shared the stage with some of SA's as well as the worlds top artists.

Bio:

A self-taught lapslide guitar player, Richard Bruyns has spent the last 25 years performing and recording with The Original Evergreen, Them Particles, Kahn Morbee, Shotgun Tori and Gunshot Blue. He has shared the stage with Laurie Levine, Dave Ferguson, Dan Patlansky and Arno Carstens amongst others.

Richard Bruyns' music is a hybrid mix of traditional American and African folk blues. He draws on influences from Hawaiian steel music through to Piedmont Blues picking techniques and his original songs contain elements of roots music mixed with infectious melodies. Throughout his songs his improvisation borrows from early blues and World music folk styles.

In 2005 he released an album called Saucetone heavily influenced by Hawaiian folk music. 2014 saw the release of The Outlined Area, an ambient solo lapslide guitar journey. Currently working in Johannesburg, South Africa, Richard has honed his lapslide playing skills for solo gigs at local clubs, coffee shops, festivals etc

  • Guitarists can shed over a backing track (providing they bring their own playback device)
