The Boss GT-1000CORE – Flagship Performance in a Compact Box

In late 2020, following up the wildly successful GT-1000, Boss unveiled the GT-1000CORE guitar effects processor. Lets take a bit of a deep dive into Boss’s newest Multi-Effects offering.

A compact unit, with absolutely all the internal sound processing of the flagship unit, the Boss GT-1000CORE is a guitar/bass multi-effects pedal that works equally as well as an all-in-one processor for playing live and in the studio.

With the same form factor as the Boss 500 Series pedals, flexible I/O, and deep control support, it’ll also be right at home at the core of any rig.

Complete Flagship Internal Tone Processing

The Boss GT-1000CORE houses the complete internal sound processing of the GT-1000 in a single 500-series sized stompbox, giving players class-leading sound quality, advanced AIRD technology, and a vast range of premium Boss amps and effects in an amazingly compact package.

A single patch provides access to 24 simultaneous effects, including two amps at once. And with 250 user patches available, there’s plenty of room to store sound creations for every type of gig. The ridiculously impressive DSP engine delivers on-demand power for all effects blocks, meaning there are no frustrating processing limitations while creating sounds.

All of this is powered by 32-bit AD/DA conversion, with 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96kHz sampling rate.

All-in-One

With an incredibly easy-to-use interface, the GT-1000CORE allows you to travel light and use it as a stand-alone unit.

The unit is loaded with expressive guitar amplifiers, all meticulously crafted with AIRD. There are BOSS original amps suitable for all guitar styles, plus famous tube amps from coveted vintage combos to modern high-gain heads. A massive range of effects options are also on board, including BOSS classics, retro stompboxes, MDP effects, and advanced algorithms ported directly from the BOSS 500 series.

The Core of Your Pedalboard

The GT-1000CORE brings next-level creative versatility to any pedalboard, big or small. Toggle between Memory and Manual modes to recall presets or kick effects on/off, and easily integrate with other stomps via mono or stereo I/O. Use the dual send/return jacks for external effects, four-cable method, or separate feeds to a PA or recorder. Access deeper control with external footswitches and expressions pedals, or remotely switch channels on your amp. And with MIDI I/O on space-saving TRS jacks, GT-1000CORE can control—or be controlled by—other MIDI devices in your rig.

Guitar or Bass

Alongside the wealth of guitar processing features and amps are three AIRD bass preamps for shaping core bass tone, as well as eight additional overdrive/distortion effects. There’s an MDP bass compressor too, plus chorus, flanger, touch wah, and many other effects specially tuned for bass. And with GT-1000CORE’s versatile effects and output routing, you can deliver optimized sound to a stage amp or PA mixer—or both at once.

The Price

Entering the market at a considerably more affordable price-point than the GT-1000, it’s easy to predict this little unit being a game-changer!
