More About Lance Rhoda

Lance Rhoda has been playing the drums since the age of four. At the age of six, he started playing in church. His dad, Apostle Vincent Rhoda, headed up the church.

Lance has been wowing the crowds of Cape Town and all over the country with his combination of rhythms and energy in all genres of music. He is currently one of the Top “Gospel Chops Drummers” in Cape Town and already is counted as one of the top drummers in South Africa.Music School

Lance has his own music school where he works with and teaches young children to play music. He has been teaching around Cape Town and surrounding areas. 

Session Musician

Lance studied at Cape Music Institute where he played in the Camillo Lombard Trio and Donveno Prins Band for two years. Since then Lance has been a session musician recording with various artists in studio.

Over the years Lance has shared the stage with the likes of Camillo Lombard, Donveno Prins, Jonathan Rubain, Denzil Erasmus, Loyiso Bala, Jody Williams, Salome, Karen Kortjie, Jamalia, Allou April, Spencer J Kennnedy, New Birth, Joyous Celebration, Ernie Smith, Sammy Webber, Ramon Alexander, Mark Williams, Gerty Ryan, One Accord and many more.

In March 2012 he launched his first DVD called “Playing over the Groove” – a teaching DVD that demonstrates how to use your skill in a simple 4/4 timing.
