Gretsch G2627T Streamliner Center Block Ltd Ed – Aged Brooklyn Burst

R14,395FREE DELIVERY

This guitar has what Gretsch call a “Center Block” body, which means it’s completely hollow with the exception of a solid central block of wood. With Center Block guitars you get warmth and resonance from the hollow sections, but they’re less prone to unwanted feedback. This is naturally great for jazz, blues, and country, but you can take advantage of the added stability that a centre block gives you and really turn up the gain for bold rock tones.

The G2627T has a laurel fingerboard which has the classic, dark appearance and provides a smooth natural-feeling playing surface. The fingerboard radius is 12″ which is relatively flat; this is great for playing huge bends without the note choking out but is still comfortable for playing chords and rhythms.

Description

This guitar is loaded with Gretsch’s Broad’Tron BT-2S humbuckers, designed specifically for the Streamliner Collection. These pickups have a punchy sound with good low, mid, and high-end response and plenty of clarity in the highs that balances well with the natural warmth of the body. The Broad’Tron BT-2S pickups are well suited for everything from classic country sounds all the way to powerful rock tones.

A triple-humbucker configuration is not a particularly common setup, but that just means you’ll have access to tones most people just can’t get. The G2627T has two pickup switches so you can really make the most of those three pickups. One pickup switch is a simple three-way switch that selects the neck, bridge, or both pickups. The second switch adds or removes just the middle pickup. With these two switches you can cycle through the conventional dual humbucker sounds, use the middle pickup with neck or bridge pickup, or even have them all on at once!
