With a history spanning nearly 18 years ROAR is long overdue a makeover. 2017 is the year that it finally took steps to re-look and re-brand itself as “ROAR LIVE”.
“ROAR LIVE” represents a bold new step for one of Cape Town’s most popular and longest standing alternative music venues. ROAR Live will keep striving to bridge the gap between the local underground music scene.
They will do so by booking more established artists/musicians of the day, catering to a wide range of patrons. All this while establishing a consistently “alternative” atmosphere.
Throughout the next few months, the venue itself will also be undergoing a few aesthetic changes. The re-brand will give the venue a fresh new look for both performers and fans to enjoy for years to come.
2017 is shaping up to be yet another exciting year for live music and ROAR LIVE is committed to being a huge part of Cape Town’s stake in it.

To help launch ROAR LIVE with the pomp and ceremony it deserves, some of the best live acts in Cape Town have been booked. If you’re not keen on the live music, you can head down to Gandalf’s for some great alternative DJ’s.
