I was recently given the opportunity to play a Faith guitar, voted the best acoustic guitar in the UK.

I chose to play on the Faith FSCE – The Saturn Dreadnought.

At first glance I was impressed with how neat the guitar is.The logo and 12th fret inlay are sleak and attractive. The fully chroatic Shadow Nanoflex pick-up is a thing of beauty in and of itself, with blue LED lights for the tuning guide. The guitar has gold grover machine heads. I’ve never been of a fan of gold hardware on a guitar myself, due to the fact that after a few years the gold laquere inevitabdiley peels off and starts looking a bit rough, but I know of a lot of people who like that effect. But at the end of the day, grover machine heads are still my favourite brand, and I wouldn’t let a thing like the color of th machine heads put me off.

The guitar is comfortable to hold with a medium U shaped neck, and the cut away is comfortable enough to allow east access to the highest of frets. An achievement not many acoustic guitar compaies get right. The factory action setting is excatly how I like it. Low enough to allow for comfortable playing, but high enough to allow for meaty bending.

The guitar is built from Solid Tone Woods, boasting an Engelmann Spruce top and Indonesian Mahogany back and sides. This allows the guitar to have a big sound that throws well. I found that the guitar handled as well with agressive strumming as it did with gentle finger picking.

This guitar would make an excellent addition to any acoustic guitarists arsenal.
