The role of the drummer has changed over time with the advancement of technology and improved standards of live production.
In the last few years, in particular, there have been huge advances in the way live music gets presented, and drummers now have the tools available to them to take control of more than just keeping time.

Darren Petersen and Sean Nunan will be presenting their approach on how Roland has changed their approach to drumming over the past few years.

Darren will be covering the hybrid drumming angle, and he will discuss his rig and all the gear that he uses, why he uses the gear that he uses and how he incorporates it into his rig.

Sean Nunan will go through his unique approach to playing. He generally controls the volume and mix of his band from behind the kit. He controls all the bits with the use of Roland gear.

Specific points that will be touched on:
1. Running backing tracks and samples
2. Recreating studio sound live on stage (samples from studio, one shot, shot loops, harmonies, etc)
3. Improving the quality of sound production in any setting (using triggers and samples to create perfect FOH audio, perfect monitor mix)
4. Bridging the gap between electronic music and live performance (e.g. live drum and bass)
