New Roland TD-27KV Electronic Drum Kit

When musicians talk about Electronic Drum Kits, inevitably someone will bring the Roland Electronic kits into the conversation. That is because Roland has an almost unmatched range of world-class, studio-quality drum digital kits available. At NAMM 2020 Roland unveiled the latest addition to their lineup – the Roland TD-27KV Electronic Drum kit.

The Roland TD-27KV is the newest kit to enter the mid-range market and fits between old favourites like the Flagship Roland TD-50 and the entry-level TD-17. Some of the game-changing benefits for drummers wanting a kit with convincing playing dynamics, sound, and stage-friendly features include a digital ride and snare, two direct outputs for the kick and snare, plus PureSONIC Ambience technology, and Overhead mic simulation.

The TD-27KV is set to land in South Africa at the end of February 2020. Would you like to know when we unpack them? Send us an email or subscribe to our newsletter, and we’ll tell you when they hit our stores.

Key Features

Larger Pads and Cymbals

With many electronic drum kits that have small pads and lower height, it causes the drum kits to feel different from acoustic kits. The TD-27KV kit ensures its drummer has a spacious layout with its larger pads and cymbals.

For a natural rebound, the drum kit includes 14″ x 4.3″ stainless-steel snare and 10″ toms that features Roland’s multi-ply mesh heads. The 12″ hi-hat cymbals mount onto a standard acoustic hi-hit stand, whereas the 12″ and 13″ crash cymbals and 18″ ride cymbal mounts on sturdy broom arms. This will ensure an authentic swinging motion when playing.

Digital Snare and Ride Pads Connect

Roland managed to bring deeper realism to the V-Drums with its innovative digital pad technology. Using USB cables, the digital pads and snare connect to the drum kit and work with the sound engine to ensure you hear your drumming sound in in-depth detail.

With the Roland TD-27KV drum kit you are able to receive a speedy processing response, further enabling you to play techniques in a natural way.

Prismatic Sound Modeling

Acquired from the TD-50, the TD-27 sound module sound the same as acoustic instruments. By sampling both vintage and modern drums, cymbals, and percussion, Roland’s unique Prismatic Sound Modeling is applied to the taken samples.

This allows your drum kit’s drum and cymbals to respond like its acoustic equivalent.

Create Your Unique Drumkit

With the TD-27KV drum kit you can easily customise your kit by applying damping, swapping head types, adjusting tuning, and more.  All you have to do is hit a pad to select it, then use the editing tools and controls to customise your sound just how you want to.

To keep you focused on playing, your edits are automatically saved. You are also able to load your samples and combine them with internal sounds allowing for more customisation.
