The Little Known Blues Fest, or LKBF, was started 5 years ago by Craig Cannon, Mike Crawford & Dale Collins (who came up with the name for us) at Bloemendal Wine Farm in Durbanville and is still going strong under Cannon along with Matt Raven, who more recently joined to form Little Known Blues Productions.
Cannon & Raven are members of the Beautiful losers, a Paul Bothner Music-endorsed band from Durbanville.
LKBF was established to create an annual platform for some of the lesser-known Blues Bands who don’t get many opportunities to show their skills and cut heads with the big boys at the larger festivals & events. They do however also throw in a couple of better known acts to grind things up a bit, and all at a price that won’t break the bank!!!
There have been a lot of great acts over the years like: The Studerbakers, Guy Collins, Hellfire Blues, Cannon, Ann Jangle, Local Escape & Basson Laubscher to mention a few.
LKBF has been at 3 fantastic venues so far. Bloemendal, Hok11 & Hillcrest Quarry the latest which was a fantastic success as were all.
