Have you and your friends ever wondered who the fastest drummer in your group is? Wonder no more!

Where: Each Bothners Store will host its own fastest hands competition during our Drum Month promotion this August.

How it Works

During the preliminary round, all contestants will be scored on playing single strokes (no bounces, presses or buzz) for 60 SECONDS and recorded by the Drumometer (Refer to Fastest Hands Rules).

The 3 fastest scores per branch’s division will be invited to partake in the branch finals championship round; held on the 31 August 2023 at the store where you entered and qualified.

Whoever has the highest score (the most strokes in a minute) will be crowned the 2023 Branch Winner.

There are 2 Divisions for the Competition per Branch

Junior (Under-16) Division

The winner of the Junior Division will win:

An Under-16 Fastest Hands Medal and certificate and a Pair of Zildjian Sticks

Open Division

The winner of the open division will win:

An Open Division Fastest Hands Branch Trophy and certificate

A Pair of Zildjian Sticks and a Promo Voucher to the value of R500

Competition Rules

  • All contestants will be scored on the criteria of playing the maximum amount of single strokes in the allocated time period.

  • Only Single Strokes are allowed (No bounces, presses or buzz).

  • The allocated time limit per contestant is 60 seconds.

  • The contestant must be seated while participating and recording his/her score.

  • Contestants must complete an entry form prior to competing.

  • A designated and authorized member of staff must be present to witness and record  the contestant’s effort.

  • Contestants may compete as many times as they like during the in-store preliminary heats.

  • NOTE that Paul Bothner (Pty) Ltd, employees and people directly associated with the competition, their families etc. are ineligible for entry.

  • Due to various time restraints, there will be NO equipment changes.

  • Judges decisions are FINAL!

  • By entering the competition, contestants agree to adhere to the rules and fun-competitive spirit of the competition

  • The recorded score/speed must be witnessed and recorded by a designated and authorized staff member. In other words, the individual can practice on their own but the recorded/posted speed “must be witnessed” by a staff member.
