Expose Yourself Semi-Finalist Winners

ai-expose-yourself

During Rocktober 2016, Paul Bothner Music in association with The Uuscene held a one of a kind competition: Expose Yourself

Expose Yourself is a programme aimed at  up-and-coming bands. The winning band will be given the opportunity to play at the next UnScene event!

Scores of bands entered the competition. Every single band who entered had their demos listened to by judges from the UnScene. After weeks of work, we are finally ready to announce the 2016 Expose Yourself Semi-Finalist Winners!

They are:

CC Project
Mudslinger
United Nation Gospel Band
Holo

It is time for the semi-finalists to battle it out. Who among them will be the 2016 Expose Yourself champions?  The winning band will get the opportunity to play alongside some of Cape Towns biggest bands at the next Unscene event.

During the course of November, each band will play at selected Paul Bothner Music stores. The gigs will take place at 11am every Saturday, with a different semi-finalist playing each week.

Two judges from the Unscene and a guest judge will be in attendance each week to score the bands. The scoring is simple: the judges are looking for orginality, stlye and overall vibe!

Grand Prize

This is an opportunity that even established bands seldom get.

About the UnScene

The UnScene Productions was officially established in March 2014 as a non-profit organisation, with the aim of growing and uniting the local South African alternative music scene by organising live music events, gatherings and other scene related activities.

The organisation has grown over the last 2 years, with notable accomplishments such as all-ages events, free entrance shows and other ventures in between. Currently, The UnScene is moving toward further expansion, establishing a brand and pursuing larger projects, all with the aim of supporting South Africa’s local alternative community.
