Headline Drum Clinic: Drumming Through the Ages

If you’re looking for a drum clinic with a difference, you should check out this doubleheader clinic featuring two of Cape Town’s finest;  Sebastian Guile and Wade Potts Brown.

During this free drum month workshop, you will experience drumming through the ages. Specifically, the clinicians will play a medley of songs ranging from the ’50s till now. The songs will showcase how drumming has evolved and highlight aspects of what made the drumming from each decade unique.

More About Sebastian "The Hitman" Guile

Sebastian has been playing the drums since the age of 6 and has been playing professionally for the past 16 years. He is a Bachelor of Music Education graduate of the South African College of Music at UCT and has played in numerous theatre productions around South Africa, most notably the Barnyard Theatre doing shows such as “Rock on Beethoven”, “Born to be Wild” and “Rock Circus”. 

Sebastian has written numerous books about drumming including “Advanced Drumming Concepts” which was published in 2018. He currently plays for the Hard Rock cover band, “Axenmore”.  

Sebastian also runs a music education company called “Mobile Music Academy” which runs classes at schools and peoples homes in Cape Town, and he also runs a charity called “Harmony Music Foundation” which teaches music to the underprivileged.

More About Wade Potts Brown

Wade is a self-taught drummer who has been playing in bands since he was 13 years old. He played jazz in high school, and has been on the bill for the most popular music festivals in South Africa.

Wade has been on TV and Radio, toured France and played at a major festival in Germany called Fusion festival. He has his own school where he gives drum lessons and also sells musical instruments.
