Devin JonesAbout Devin:
Devin is the drummer for Jeremy Loops. In a whirlwind 2014, Loops debuted at #1 on iTunes in South Africa, headlined major festivals, and maintained #1 on the three most prominent radio stations in Southern Africa with “Down South”, his breakout single.

Devin has a bachelor of music degree in Jazz Performance. He is known for his energetic and creative playing, having established himself as a versatile drummer, producing and playing for a variety of bands and artists such as Locnville, Plush, Hot Water, Captain Stu, 7th Son, Stereo Zen, Axxon, Jazz etc, Spratch, and the Natalie Chapman Band.

His career took off when he joined African folk-rock band, “Hot Water” in 2005. The band was booked to perform at the prestigious Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts at the National Botanical Gardens in Cape Town. Here they launched their debut album, ‘Home’ in early 2006. In line with the band’s organic approach to the music industry, the music spread naturally and within the year Hot Water had been recognised as representative of diverse South African flavours. The band was featured on BBC World’s ‘Destination Music’ series and was included on international record label, Edel’s ‘A Day in Cape Town’ CD-book compilation. Shortly following this, their upbeat single ‘Bushfire’ was used as the musical face of the Italian children’s shoe manufacturer, Primigi’s European and US commercial campaign. Back at home the band embarked on a City of Cape Town upliftment initiative performing in disadvantaged areas throughout the city and surrounds.

He is currently teaching at SACS, St. Cyprians, the Silvermine Music Academy and privately.
