Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival 2018

Big Band Jazz Festival 2018

The Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival is one of the highlights for any school big band. It is time for the Big Band Jazz Festival 2018!

Schools from all over the Western Cape will be bringing their jazz bands and their big bands to perform over the course of the festival. This year there is even a band leader from as far off as the USA! The festival will be taking place at the Baxter in Cape Town.

By attending, not only will you get to experience some of the best Big Band Jazz Bands in the country, but you will be supporting the musical development of the youth of South Africa.

Every year the festival continues to grow from strength to strength, and this year is no exception!

More about the Big Band Jazz Festival 2018

The BBFJ is the brainchild of Ann Barr, who is a board member of the South African Jazz Educators. The proceeds from the festival every year are used to fund music initiatives around the country.

These initiatives are aimed specifically at empowering and growing music in the poorest communities. If you would like to learn more about how the funds are used, you can read about it one the Big Band Jazz Festival 2018 website.
