Categories
This year, the format for the anything-goes competition is exactly the same as last year. So the competition is open to acoustic guitarists and electric guitarists.
So no matter if you’re into folk guitar strumming or want to demonstrate your metal riffs, there is a category for you!
Divisions
Both categories have a junior as well as an open division. The junior division is open to all guitarists who are under 18 on the night of the competition. The open division is open to all guitarists aged 18 and up.

Prizes – Junior Divisions ( Both electric and acoustic divisions )
- One set of Ernie Ball guitar strings
- R250.00 DV Village Voucher
- Winner certificate and bragging rights for a year.

- Winners trophy and bragging rights for a year.
Rules and Limitations
- Anything GUITAR goes!
- Any genre, any style!
- Guitarists can even shred over a backing track (providing they bring their own playback device)
- No vocals will be allowed.
- The aim is to find the best solo guitarist!
- No Bands!
- Solo performances only
- Three min time limit
- Judges decision is final
- No entry fee
- You don’t have to buy something to enter
