Alesis Drums and Percussion

Are you a drummer who is sick of lugging around your kit? If you’re looking to scale down some bulk, without sacrificing tone, then you should consider something from the Alesis electronic drums and percussion range.

When electric drums first hit the market, there was some scepticism about whether or not they could adequately emulate an acoustic drum kit. Fast forward to today, and you will find a multitude of options, all of which can deliver an authentic drum tone.

Regardless of whether you’ve been playing an acoustic kit for years, and want to venture into the realm of electronic drumming, or if you’re an absolute beginner drummer, Alesis has an ideal option for you.

I speak to any drummer who has played or owns an Alesis DM8, the one common thread that you will hear is how good the kit sounds. The DM8 features 750 Dynamic Articulation drum and percussion sounds. That gives you the freedom to dial in a truly unique drum tone.

The low-noise rubber pads are responsive, and the dual-zone snare drum will allow you to play rimshots as well as regular hits. And best of all; the kit has a three-part sequencer so that you can play along with backing tracks while recording yourself!

The Alesis Nitro Kit is a complete 8-piece drum kit that has everything you need to play like a pro, without the need to rob a band first.

The kit features three 8″ mesh tom pads and an 8″ dual-zone mesh snare drum for great feel and natural response, plus a kick drum pad with a pedal.

The mesh heads on the Alesis kit have a few distinct advantages over standard rubber pads, but the two most significant are lower noise and more accurate stick response.

The sound is generated by the Nitro electronic drum module, which offers hundreds of percussion sounds, 40 different kits and 60 built-in play-along tracks.

If all you’re looking to do is add some percussion sounds to your existing rig, then buying an electronic drum kit might not work for you. Instead, you should add a percussion pad like the Alesis Performance Pad to your rig.

The Alesis Performance Pad Pro is an eight-pad multi-percussion instrument featuring over 500 sounds!  And if that wasn’t enough, it also has a three-part sequencer so you can play live, create loops and sequences, accompany yourself, and add texture to the band or musical group. It even has inputs for kick and hi-hat triggers.

The SamplePad Pro is an all-in-one percussion and sample-playing instrument and is another hybrid option for mixing acoustic and electronic tones. It is the perfect addition for a live drum set or for incorporating electronic drum sounds into your acoustic set.  Having a responsive pad instead of tapping rhythms in with two fingers from a keyboard make a tremendous difference in feel and dynamics.

It comes equipped with 8 responsive, LED-illuminated rubber pads and 10 preset kits. The USB connection allows you to drag and drop samples from your computer without removing the SD card.

The Alesis SampleRack Percussion Module is a single-space rack module that includes trigger inputs and sample playback. You can load samples onto an SD card which is accessible on the front panel. Of course, having an SD card reader to load samples from your computer can be a pain, which is why the SD card is accessible through the unit’s USB port.

The SampleRack comes with over 200 built-in drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds, features 10 ready-to-play drum kits and even had 8 dual-zone 1/4″ trigger inputs.
