The Quarry

The Quarry in Durbanville is at the forefront of the outdoor music scene. Furthermore,  not only do they host some of the best bands in the country, but they have one of the best outdoor sound rigs available. And best of all, since you are in an actual quarry, the stone pit creates a natural amphitheatre sense.

In addition. the Quarry has great grass lawns and a fully licenced bar. They offer everything you could want from a day out.

aKing

aKing was formed in 2007, and it was immediately clear that they were a step above the average band. The founding members of aKing are Hunter Kennedy and Jaco ‘Snakehead’ Venter, both members of the Bellville-based Fokofpolisiekar.

Hunter and Jaco gained a wealth of experience while playing for Polisiekar. They capitalised on that experience and brought a new offering to the Cape Town music scene.

Since their inception, aKing has gone on to share the stage with international bands like Oasis, Snow Patrol and Panic! at the Disco.

Taxi Violence

Taxi Violence have long been one of the biggest forces in the South African rock scene.

The band have travelled a long and independent road to proving themselves as one of the best live acts in South Africa. Their sound can be described as blues-infused, retro rock with a pinch of sleaze and bourbon.

Their sound is influenced by bands such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam.
