The Vortex trance party is one of the most popular trance parties in the country. Hundreds of revellers attend this bi-annual event and are rewarded with a sense of community, a safe place to spend a few days and time camping. If camping and partying for 5 days sounds like your idea of fun, then you should head on through.

First off, Vortex is a festival for trance music. Ever year top trance and EDM DJ’s take to the stage to delight party goers. With 5-days of almost non-stop music, you can be sure to get your fill.

Camping
Like with motorcycle rallies, a large element of the trance party culture is camping. While some parties offer a “glamping” option, most people prefer camping. Not only is camping cheaper, many trance heads will say that you’re not getting an authentic experience unless you camp.
Like the hippies of the 60s, a large population of trance goers want to reconnect with nature and the outdoors. So, to them, camping is as essential as the music itself. So, if you decide to head through, be sure to take everything you would need to camp out.
Food and Drink
Vortex does offer clean running water to each campsite, so you won’t need to worry about bringing your own water along. There are also a number of food stalls to satiate any hunger. So don’t stress if you aren’t the best at planning. Just bring some cash along and you’ll be fine.
TICKETS TO THE 2017 VORTEX OPEN SOURCE TRANCE PARTY
A full festival pass, which includes the booking fee, is valid for a five-day camping and party experience from 9am on Thursday, 7 to 5pm on Monday, 11 December 2017 is available for R650/p. Those who can’t make the entire five-day festival can purchase a weekend pass for R550/p.
