Do you love your guitar, but wish it had a little more “kick”? Have you tried things like mild distortion pedals without much luck?

Yeah, we’ve all been there.

Getting your guitar to have more kick, without losing its inherent tonal quality isn’t always an easy endeavour. It might almost seem like a lost cause. But, fear not! Seymour Duncan has released the Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster.

The pickup booster has been designed specifically to give your guitar that boost it’s missing, without changing the character of your guitar. According to the guys over at Seymour, you should think about it like sending your guitar to the gym.

Inside the Pedal

The Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster has a true bypass class A circuit. So when you are not using the pedal, it won’t drain any of your tone.

And when you are using the pedal, it will enhance and emphasise your natural tone, while fattening it up like a Christmas goose.

It uses a discrete push-pull output stage for increased drive capability. This means that even with the Gain knob down to 0dB your signal chain will sound cleaner, even with long cable runs! The pedal will essentially act as a buffer on your pedalboard.

Single Coils on Steroids

Do you want your vintage single coil guitar to get a humbucker sound? The Resonance Switch will make the pedal interact directly with your pickups. In a nutshell, that means that it can change the tone of your single coil pickup, and emulate a fatter more rounded humbucker tone.

The switch has an off position, and you can flip it up to position one, or flip it down to position two. Position one gives your guitar more “teeth” while position two will give your guitar more of a “cocked-wah” tone.
