The Groote Schuur High School Band will be playing a free show at Paul Bothner Music in Plumstead on the 7th of May at 11am.

GROOTE SCHUUR HIGH SCHOOL BANDS
Directed by Ms Ronel Nagfaal & Mr Jeremy Quickfall

The Groote Schuur High School band was formed in September 2012 (mentored by Lee-Anne Fortuin) and since then has grown into a Junior Band under the guidance of Ms Nagfaal and Senior Band under the guidance of Mr Quickfall.
The bands have performed at the Arts and Culture Focus Schools Live Performance Workshop which forms part of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

They have performed at concerts and music evenings held at Groote Schuur High School and at Valentine’s Day picnics held on the lawns at the school.

They have also performed at the Jazz on the Lawn Festival hosted by St Josephs Marist College as well as the Baxter Theatre.

The Jazz Bands have performed at Kelvin Grove Club and at Kenilworth Centre and in 2014 they, together with the Vocal Ensemble, were invited to be the opening act for SHAKATAK at Maynardville.

The bands have a versatile repertoire consisting of different tunes of different genres, such as local and international Jazz, Pop, House, Contemporary, Reggae and Rock.
