The Franschhoek Cellar boasts an array of state of the art facilities. With the modern and spacious events venue able to accommodate up to 300 guests. This is the single biggest venue of its kind in the area! Because of this, music and food lovers can look forward to the same superior service and quality across the stellar line-up of leading artists. These artists have been booked to entertain locals and visitors alike!
Acts like Watershed, Dan Patlansky and PJ Powers having all enjoyed sold-out success here. And now, the Franschhoek Cellar looks set to add a further feather in its cap. This will be a crucial stop for artists with South African and International appeal, and a desire to be a part of Franschhoek’s favourite family entertainment experience.

17 September: Freshly Ground
One of the most acclaimed and successful bands to emerge from South Africa in recent years.
Freshlyground blends the infectious kwela style and musical traditions from Zimbabwe and Mozambique with elements of pop, jazz, blues and indie rock. Enjoy classics, favourites and songs from their upcoming album in Franschhoek style.
23 April: Monark
Monark delivers something completely fresh and unique and is setting trends sonically while stirring up tastes in the South African music landscape.
Having dominated the South African airwaves with their first 2 singles, Smiling (5FM Top 3) and Build It Up (5FM Top 5, and #1 on Jacaranda FM, Highveld/KFM, Algoa FM, OFM), they also released their 3rd single, Something in the build up to the launch of their debut album NEGATIVES.
26 March: Parlotones Live
The Parlotones are a South African indie rock band from Johannesburg. Formed in 1998, the group consists of Kahn Morbee, Paul Hodgson, Glenn Hodgson and Neil Pauw. The Parlotones’ early sound was rooted brit rock but eventually grew to incorporate a wider spectrum of musical genres. The lyrics focus on personal themes, of love and everyday life, paired with catchy melodies that engage their audience.

18 December: PRIME CIRCLE / STRIPPED SHOW
While touring extensively, Prime Circle has been continuously raising the bar in efforts to go beyond their already legendary, world-famous live performances and their three-piece “STRIPPED” tour is no exception.
Fans of “Hello”, “Breathing” and more recently “Ghosts” will get to experience Ross, Dale and Neil unpacking their plethora of hits, all stripped bare and delivered raw, exposing the root of the songs and their stories.

20 December: WATERSHED Unplugged
Since their breakthrough single in 2000 with “Indigo Girl”, Watershed have become one of the most decorated bands ever. Their distinctive melodic guitar sounds blend with the sultry tones of lead singer Craig Hind. This creates a soothing and classic rock sound that is easily recognisable and unique.

27 DECEMBER: Ard Matthews Unplugged
Over the course of the last 15 years, Ard Matthews has been honing his craft. Ard is the frontman of South African band Just Jinjer. Undoubtedly, his indelible lyrics and melodic arrangements afforded them the incredible success of their debut album, All Comes Round. Because of this, they have become one of the biggest-selling bands in the country.
Ard released his debut solo album in the winter of 2012, to critical acclaim, and also recently teamed up with South African folk icon Vusi Mahlasela for Ard’s track “Umuntu”. Ard is now playing regularly, in his solo capacity, as well as still fronting the original Just Jinjer, with many well-known and talented musicians sharing the stage.

15 January: ARNO CARSTENS
Arno Carstens is a platinum-selling, award-winning singer-songwriter based in Cape Town, South Africa.
During his career as the lead singer of The Springbok Nude Girls, and subsequently as a solo artist, Arno has released 10 studio albums, 5 as the lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls, 1 as half of the Electronica project, Belltower and 5 as a solo artist. He has won 5 South African Music Awards.
Arno has headlined every major South African music festival and has performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, Glastonbury, V Festival, T in the Park and Hard Rock Calling. He has also performed with The Rolling Stones, U2, and The Police on European tours. Arno features as lead vocalist and co-writer on three tracks on the Mike + The Mechanics 2011 album The Road.
