Too often big name brand companies stop trying. They rest on their laurels and put out products that are “good enough”. These companies know that their fanbase will still buy their product because it has their logo on it.
With the Paramount range of guitars, Fender has yet again proven that they are not one of these companies. Fender keeping upping the bar with their products, almost as if they are challenging everyone else to be better.
Fender Paramount PM-1 Deluxe
This guitar sounds huge! On the surface, it looks like an ordinary acoustic guitar. It doesn’t have a cutaway or exotic woods. Becuase of this one can be forgiven for thinking that it offered nothing special.
Upon closer inspection, though, you can see that Fender has put a lot of effort into finishing this guitar off. The inlays along the fretboard are stylishly done, the binding is subtle yet striking and the lines are all clean.
The guitar might have an art deco look, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t held onto many modern design features. It’s the perfect mashup of old meets new.
Designed in the US, Paramount guitars are “specially voiced to bring your artistic vision to life”. The Fender Paramount PM-1 Deluxe features a high gloss solid Sitka Spruce top. This gives the guitar great clarity and volume.
The guitar’s back and sides are made of solid East Indian Rosewood, one of the most sought after tonewoods for acoustic guitar players.
The neck is Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard.
All of these woods act together to make the guitar sound big and clear when played acoustically. In order to ensure that the guitar sounds as good when it is plugged in, Fender has equipped the guitar with a custom built Fishman pickup.
The Fishman PM range of pickups has been specifically voiced to match each shape in the Paramount range.
Overall, any acoustic player would do well to have one of these guitars in their collection.
