The Wharfedale EVP 15 NEO

The EVP-15 NEO is a passive two-way loudspeaker in a lightweight and compact trapezoidal enclosure designed for use in portable live sound reinforcement and mobile DJ applications.

A custom 15” neodymium woofer is reflex loaded and precisely matched to a conventional 1.6” titanium diaphragm, 1” exit compression driver on a 70 degree round horn flare with an internal passive crossover network. The passive crossover network features a thermal protection system on the HF section providing audibly transparent protection for the compression driver.

Two recessed aluminium handles are located at the centre of gravity of the enclosure. A dual angle pole-mount socket for use with a speaker pole or stand allows the enclosure to be aimed directly at the audience. The trapezoidal enclosure is constructed from heavily braced MDF to reduce weight whilst maintaining rigidity; the powder-coated grille has a formed peak along the centre line of the grille for additional strength and rigidity. Parallel inputs use combination jack / speakon connectors on a recessed input plate.

The Yamaha P3500S Power Amp

Yamaha’s audio engineers have specifically designed the new P-Series power amplifiers to be perfect companions to the popular Club Series loudspeakers. To achieve this, they made sure that the amplifiers are capable of delivering power that matches the power handling capabilities of the Club Series Speakers.

Matching precision is afforded by Yamaha’s proprietary YS Processing circuit. Each P-series amplifier is equipped with this specially designed circuit so that it delivers output tailored to the specific response of the Club Series speakers. All models feature both XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs, and Neutrik speakON, phone plug, and 5-way binding post outputs. Other features include Yamaha’s exclusive EEEngine technology for high performance with exceptional efficiency, sweepable high and low pass filters for matching output to any loudspeakers, a compact and durable 2U chassis, and variable speed cooling fans.

Big Power with Outstanding Efficiency

The new P-Series Power Amplifiers deliver solid, professional-quality power. Those on a budget will find the lineup’s high power output and affordable prices offer superior quality without putting a strain on funds.

And: Yamaha’s exclusive EEEngine technology, keeps operational costs down by significantly reducing AC power consumption and heat generation.

The Perfect Match for Your Club Speakers

The new P-Series Power Amplifiers can be used with any loudspeaker system, but if you’re using our Club Series speakers they will provide optimum power and performance. In an 8 ohms stereo application, power output configuration, the P3500S delivers 350 watts per channel. At 4 ohms, this is 500W per channel.

Light Weight for Easy Transport and Setup

The P3500S is surprisingly light in weight, making transport and setup less of a chore..

Versatile Connectivity

To provide the most versatile connectivity possible, these are equipped with Neutrik speakON* output jacks and 1/4-inch output jacks for each channel, in addition to 5-way binding post. Balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS jacks are provided for channel input.

* speakON is a registered trademark of Neutrik AG.

EEEngine

EEEngine (Energy Efficient Engine) Technology makes more efficient use of AC power by reducing power consumption and heat generation without sacrificing output power or sound quality. When power requirements are low, the system uses a highly efficient current buffer to transparently switch input power on and off as needed. As power requirements increase, an independently responding auxiliary power line supplies additional power as required. Output isn’t compromised because the auxiliary power line is driven by the power supply voltage which maintains maximum output to the speaker load.

YS Processing

YS Processing (Yamaha Speaker Processing) achieves optimum matching with our popular Club Series loudspeaker systems. This special circuit optimizes output from the power amplifier to match the characteristics of Club Series speaker systems, resulting in extra-smooth highs and enhanced lows.

Features

All-in-one for Easy Operation and Fast Setup

The EMX-series powered mixers integrate mixer, power amplifier, graphic EQ, and digital effects into a compact, portable unit. No need for complex setup and wiring — simply plug in and play! The entire system is optimized, so it’s easy to get great sound just about anywhere.

500 watts of Superior Sound through Painstaking Design and Parts Selection

Parts selection is crucial to achieving the best possible sound, and Yamaha spares no effort in selecting the best. The critical head amplifier circuit, for example, uses special low-noise chip resistors that are deposited on a thin film of nichrome for accurate, noise-free reproduction. Special care has also been taken in laying out the system’s grounding as well as the circuitry in general to ensure that no unwanted noise or interference degrades the quality of the sound.

Intuitive, Functional Controls and Connectivity

The mixer section offers a total of 12 inputs in a very versatile configuration: channels 1 through 4 are mono microphone or line inputs, channels 5/6 and 7/8 can function either as mono microphone/line inputs or stereo line inputs, and channels 9/10 and 11/12 are stereo line inputs. Connectors are also provided for connection to external power amplifiers and effect processors. Stereo channels 9/10 and 11/12 include phono jacks for direct connection of CD players or other music playback devices, to which the 3-band channel equalizers can be applied as required. There are also two 7-band graphic equalizers that can be used to match speaker and/or room response for optimum sound.

Built-in SPX Effects

Yamaha’s SPX effects are widely recognized as being some of the finest available for both recording and live sound. The EMX-series powered mixers feature an SPX effect processor built in, delivering extraordinary effect quality with 32-bit processing. 16 effect programs with adjustable parameters give you top-quality digital reverb, echo, delay, modulation, and distortion.

High-efficiency Power Amplifiers

To make the EMX-series powered mixers light and manageable, the power amplifiers used must be extremely efficient while providing superior sound quality. In fact, the EMX power amplifiers are remarkably efficient, delivering high power with relatively low power consumption and heat generation. At the same time they deliver outstanding audio quality with excellent transient response and low distortion. Power output from all models is quite impressive: 500W + 500W from the EMX512SC, 300W + 300W from the EMX312SC, and 220W + 220W from the EMX212S.

Lightweight, Practical Design

In the EMX series reduced weight does not mean reduced performance. The cabinet is formed of a special lightweight-but-rugged material, while a switching power supply delivers all the clean power the system needs. The power amp itself has also been refined for outstanding sound, extra high efficiency, and reliable performance. The cabinet design allows normal or angled placement for improved visibility and access.

Uncompromising Reliability and Safety Standards

The EMX-series powered mixers not only meet worldwide safety and electronic emission standards, but they are also subject to more than sixty rigorous internal Yamaha tests that guarantee the highest possible level of reliability.

Forced Air Keeps the System Cool Even in Difficult Conditions

Airflow can be compromised when a powered mixer is rack mounted, and direct sunlight in outdoor applications can raise temperatures to dangerous levels. The EMX-series mixers feature a forced-air cooling system that has been custom-designed for each model to ensure reliable operation and high performance even under difficult conditions.

New Compressor Circuit on the EMX512SC and EMX312SC

Each mono input channel on the EMX512SC and EMX312SC features an advanced compressor circuit that lets you achieve the ideal degree of compression with a single knob. Setting up optimal compression for a source is usually a complicated process, but this unique compressor makes it easy to achieve “musical” compression for enhanced vocal or guitar sound.

Practical Utility Features

The Yamaha FCL (Feedback Channel Locating) system makes locating and eliminating feedback easier than ever. FCL indicators provided on each input channel indicate which channel feedback is occurring in, so you can identify it visually and adjust levels or EQ as required. Another handy features is a Standby switch that mutes channels 1 through 8 so that, for example, after rehearsal or between sets you can mute performer’s inputs 1 through 8 without having to change fader settings, while stereo inputs 9 through 12 remain active for background music playback. There’s even a footswitch connector that will accept an optional FC5 footswitch for effect on/off control.

Yamaha Speaker Processing

Yamaha Speaker Processing provides optimized matching with Yamaha Concert Club series, BR series or AX series speakers, for clean, solid reproduction that will deliver your music with maximum impact.

Power Amp Mode Selector

The power amp mode switch allows the internal power amplifiers to be configured in a variety of ways. A simple switch setting allows you to set up the ideal main and monitor output configuration for your application.

Optional Rack Mount Hardware

The EMX-series mixers can be conveniently rack mounted using the optional RK512 rack-mount kit.

Proel’s TFLV/ TFL flying trapezoidal speaker series is a line of enclosures suitable for installation or touring use, available in hard epoxy texture finish with extremely rugged and anti-scratch coating, or in compact class 1 carpet. The cabinets, designed asymmetrically for wedge monitor applications, are made of 18 mm birch plywood, incorporate a thick metal grille, stand adapter and ergonomic carrying handles for easy transport. Commercial M10 threads/ eyebolts guarantee maximum enclosure suspension facility. High quality woofers feature ISVC (Interleaved Sandwich Voice coils) and die-cast baskets with double ventilation design for improved heat dissipation and to reduce power compression.

The optimised mechanical excursion is granted by a unique DSS system (Double Silicon Spider), which controls the linearity of the transducer. Low distortion and excellent sound quality are furtherly improved by a DDR system (Double Demodulating Rings). Custom high frequency compression drivers feature titanium diaphragms, flat aluminium wire voice coils, low distortion and extremely good frequency response.

Proel’s own SWG (Spherical Wave Guide) dispersion horn has a coverage of 70°Hx70°V and allows uniform dispersion and clear acoustic response. The TFLV/ TFL speakers feature 12/ 24 dB/ oct passive crossovers with electronic protection for permanent reliability under stress. An external Full Range/Bi-Amp selector allows use in multiple speaker systems.

From adding new amps and transducers to a new lightweight power supply—the SRM450v2 surpasses the performance of the original SRM450 to deliver pure studio monitor sound at more powerful, full-on loudspeaker levels. It’s affordable, too—even though the SRM450v2 is a complete redesign from inside out, it still retains a musician-friendly price tag.

“SRM” Stands for Sound Reinforcement Monitor
Over a decade ago, Greg Mackie and a dedicated team of engineers set out to create a portable loudspeaker that could deliver studio monitor sound quality. Unlike a relatively small, acoustically controlled studio where the “sweet spot” is well defined, live venues vary greatly, and most are far from acoustically balanced. Despite the challenges, after two years of extensive research and development, the first Sound Reinforcement Monitor was born—a loudspeaker that truly lived up to its name. The SRM450v2 continues the SRM450’s tradition of studio monitor sound quality—and trumps it—to deliver sound that makes any venue seem like a well-tuned studio.

Ultra-Wide Dispersion
Undoubtedly you’ve been to a show where the sound is all over the map—stand in front of the band, it sounds okay, but move a little to your left or right and all of a sudden you’ve got mud in your ears. When the SRM450v2 loudspeakers are on stage, no matter where you stand, you hear sound with impeccable stereo imaging, depth of field and definition—at full-on loudspeaker levels. This is due to the SRM450v2’s wide dispersion pattern, which is achieved through its multi-cell horn throat aperture. To those of you whose eyes just glazed over, let’s just tell you what it does—the multi-cell horn throat aperture allows for much wider and more even dispersion of high and mid frequencies, so whether you’re listening intently front and center, or playing it cool on the perimeter, you’ll hear the same great mix.

Stunning Bass via Servo Feedback Controlled, all new Neodymium Woofer
But the SRM450v2 delivers astonishingly deep and defined bass frequencies. In fact, it outperforms the original SRM450, which was renowned for its ability to deliver real low-down sound. That’s thanks to the SRM450v2’s servo feedback technology combined with its all-new neodymium woofer and 3-inch voice coil.

Based on Mackie’s award-winning HR824mk2 studio monitor technology, the servo feedback damping electronic circuit within the SRM450v2 “locks” the woofer in place with the positive and negative outputs of the amplifier. This creates a solid direct-coupling that allows the SRM450v2 to deliver extremely deep bass from a small cabinet. And the new neodymium woofer’s magnet is lighter in mass, therefore faster than ceramics, giving the SRM450v2’s bass more punch. The new longer 3-inch voice coil allows the woofer to handle heat more efficiently, so it produces a consistently full dynamic range—even at maximum output. So you get full, thumping, detailed lows, even after long hours of use at near-peak volumes.

With this “Class D Fast Recovery amplification,” as we’ve lovingly (and creatively) dubbed the technology, the SRM450v2 handles maximum volume—and associated heat—with ease, so there’s no unwanted noise, and no thermal problems. Even after hours of sustained use at near-peak levels, your sound remains clean and your SRM450v2 keeps cool.

Because power amps and transducers vary widely in sound and quality, trying to match the right power amp with the right speaker can be challenging, especially if you’re not a professional acoustic technician—or rolling in cash so you can hire one. Our proven Active design does all the work for you. With our SRM450v2, you get a complete loudspeaker system, with complex electronics and carefully chosen components, all precisely tuned and tweaked to work together. The result is a loudspeaker with phenomenal sound quality and power, that’s completely plug-and-play—no EQ needed.

Built-in Protection Circuitry for Long Life
We know our Active loudspeakers are pushed hard—often to, or beyond, the limit. That’s why we have reliable protection circuitry built in to every one. The SRM450v2 employs a built-in limiter for less distortion at peak levels, and an automatic sliding high pass filter to give you that little bit extra volume when the crowd demands more. And thanks to the advanced technology of its power supply and Class-D amp topology, the SRM450v2 is greater than 90 percent efficient—more of the power from your outlet goes straight to the transducer, without the power supply and amp giving off loads of heat. Less heat means better performance, and longer life.

Versatile, Portable, Tough—And They Look Good, Too
When designing the SRM450v2, we considered every angle. From every angle is just how you can position it, too—pole-mount it from the bottom, fly it vertically or horizontally via its integrated M10 mounting points, or use it as a wedge monitor. With all this flexibility, it’s the most versatile portable Active loudspeaker around. And now moving it into place is easier than ever. Weighing in at about 40 pounds—11 pounds lighter than the original SRM450—you’ll have plenty of strength left over to play after loading in. Plus, the SRM450v2 retains its rugged, Mackie “built-like-a-tank” durability, thanks to the polypropylene cabinet—now in a tasty hue of Midnight Blue. So not only do you get a portable loudspeaker that sounds phenomenal, you get one that’s tough and portable for the road, and handsome enough for the show.

Its 16 channels, including 12 microphone pre-amplifiers, will accommodate the amplification of all the elements of a medium size band, with maximum control on every channel. Its 4 output buses allow you to control several groups of instruments or to control several amplification systems. Thanks to the INSERT function on every MONO channel and on the main MIX, you can employ your favourite outboard processors to get the best out of each instrument, while the 7-band stereo graphic equalizer can compensate the frequency response of the main system or the monitors. The M16USB features a USB interface for PC connection, and comes with a rugged transportation bag and adapters for standard 19″ rack mounting.
