The Zildjian Gen16 AE (Acoustic Electric) Cymbal is now available at Paul Bothner Music. Unlike most existing electronic percussion systems, the AE Cymbal is not a sample trigger device. Instead, it’s an actual cymbal, and plays like one, but is much softer, utilizing a unique dual microphone and DSP engine to amplify and model the cymbal’s output. The tin content in a cymbal is key because it impacts the cymbal’s overall spectrum of sound and durability. Zildjian’s increased the amount of tin in their Sheet Cymbal alloy.
