The annual Herschel unplugged competition, was held on Friday 13 April, at The Knead Restaurant at Palmyra Junction. Twelve, rather nervous, but excited students, performed covers and originals on guitar and vocals, to a very partisan appreciative audience. 
Every year, Paul Bothner Music sponsors a UCT Music Student who shows great promise as a performance artist. This year’s glowing winner is the prodigious David Male, the hot new talent who plays in the style of masters such as Wes Montgomery and Jim Hall. His prize, a R10 000 voucher from Paul Bothner Music. 
Salmon Fikster attending Pionier School was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, making him blind since birth. Salmon’s blindness has not stopped him from expressing his musical side, playing the Piano, Guitar and Singing.

Living Hope hosted a Teen Career Day, to educate and expand the career dreams of “at-risk” teens in our communities, with the help of Paul Bothner Music and other organizations. |
