Paul Bothner Music Claremont has been in the Werdmuller Centre, in Claremont’s Main Road, since 1980. Since its inception, it’s been the first choice in Cape Town, for many musicians, from aspiring to professional. Whether its for musical instruments, or advice on Studio and PA setups, we run the gamut!!

The Werdmuller Centre is a rare and beautiful National Monument. It has a geometrically-rich, angular appearance, yet mildly-sloping floors. These mild slopes accommodate the physically disabled, with a special focus on wheelchair users, whom find the multitude of small stairs, typical of the entrances and exits of modern architecture, painful or awkward to navigate. The store was, not very long ago, chosen for a BMW advert. The reason: it’s considered to be one of the most iconic, unique music stores in Africa.

We’re also one of the few stores to offer FREE UNDERGROUND PARKING! Our store also offers the facility of deliveries, circumstances permitting, throughout Cape Town, at no additional charge!!

Jerome Da Silva Gouveia, is not only the Claremont Branch Manager but also Regional Head of drums and percussion. Naturally, it boasts one of the largest drum & percussion areas in the entire country.

As we are situated close to the Newlands Rugby and Cricket Stadia, we also get visits from our country’s Sports Stars and other celebrities. We’re seriously committed to serving everybody with the same excellence and enthusiasm, of course…

Our expert staff-members cater to all, whether it’s assistance related to Hi-Tech Recording environments, or educational material for toddlers. Just about anyone, with musical needs, will feel at home with our highly trained, friendly, experienced staff.

We’re associated with all the Apple Mac Music Focus Schools in the Western Cape and many other organizations and institutions requiring help. The UCT College of Music has a very close link with this branch, as we are committed not only to accommodating musicians’ needs but also to playing a positive role in Music Education. This store is an Authorised Apple dealer, with in-house Apple Mac expertise.

Our store features a unique development: The Bass Center. Headed by the Guru’s Guru: Alistair Andrews, it’s the first of its kind in Africa. We make the Bass Player’s dream a reality. The Who’s-Who of South Africa’s Bass Players, have put their stamp of approval on the Bass Center, offering Monthly Free Workshops. Please note that we do order custom Fender™ and Warwick™ Basses and the like, to make your dream bass real!
